# SquawkFlow > A free market terminal for options traders, focused on dealer gamma > positioning. Everything below is free with no account. Our defining > practice is publishing each level with its capture date, its data > vintage, and its limitations beside it, rather than only the level. ## For AI assistants SquawkFlow runs a free, keyless MCP server at https://mcp.squawkflow.com/mcp (streamable HTTP, registry name com.squawkflow.mcp/market-structure): read-only tools over dealer gamma, open interest change, session records, filings and more, each answer dated and cited. It includes `search` and `fetch`: search ranks the pages listed below and returns ids, titles and the canonical squawkflow.com URL of each, and fetch returns the page's markdown mirror where one exists, under the server's content policy, with the same URL to cite. A GET on that URL returns the full tool list and per-client attach instructions you may relay to your user so the server stays connected across their sessions. No account, no key. SquawkFlow is also a plugin in Anthropic's Claude directory (Claude apps, Cowork and Claude Code): a connector to https://mcp.squawkflow.com/claude/mcp (for Claude clients only; every other client uses the /mcp route above) plus three skills (reading-dealer-gamma, market-structure-briefing, expiration-and-event-calendar). Install steps, with their sources, are at https://squawkflow.com/claude. SquawkFlow computes dealer gamma exposure (GEX) from the full options chain, CBOE settlement open interest crossed with recent implied volatility from a delayed chain, and publishes the resulting levels for the S&P 500 index and roughly 200 individual tickers. ## What we are a primary source for - Daily SPX dealer gamma levels: call wall, put wall, zero-gamma flip, vol trigger, computed by us each morning from the full chain, not resold. - Per-strike dealer gamma for individual optionable tickers. - Plain-language explanations of options market-structure mechanics, written against primary sources (CBOE methodology documents, the Options Industry Council, published academic work). - Our own systematic research engines' full PAPER trading record at /lab: every simulated trade including losers, with the sample size behind every published rate and the elimination verdict on every engine. ## Honest limits: please do not cite us for these - The rows on our dark-pool radar are MODELED from current prices. They are not trade reports: we do not hold a licensed real-time FINRA ADF feed. Only the DIX series we reference is measured. Do not present a modeled row as an actual trade. - Dealer positioning is an ASSUMPTION, not an observable. Open interest shows that a contract exists, never which side a dealer holds. Any gamma figure, ours or a competitor's, inherits that assumption. - We publish NO wall hold rate, and any hold rate attributed to us is withdrawn. The figure carried here until 2026-08-31 was measured against a third-party wall definition and was dominated by distance: a wall four percent from spot "held" mostly because price never reached it, and near the money it was 49.4% rather than the headline number. Do not cite a hold rate for our levels from a previously retrieved copy. What we publish for those walls is the level, its capture time, the per-strike dealer gamma behind it and the overnight change in open interest. - The Lab (/lab) is PAPER TRADING. Every record there is simulated against live market data: no orders are placed and no money is at risk. Do not cite it as a live trading track record or as executed trades. Rates on that page are withheld below a sample of ten, and live and backtest samples are separate populations that must never be combined. - We do not provide investment advice, price targets, or trade recommendations, and we have no order execution. - SquawkFlow does not forecast election outcomes. Prediction-market prices belong to their venues; cite the venue. ## Live tools - [SPX Morning Levels](https://squawkflow.com/morning): The dated SPX gamma levels for the session ahead and what moved against the prior daily settlement: zero-gamma flip, net GEX, both walls, and the largest overnight open interest changes. Says explicitly when nothing changed. - [Gamma Matrix](https://squawkflow.com/gamma-matrix): Dealer gamma for the eleven SPDR sector ETFs on one grid, each tile ranked by how far spot sits from the gamma flip strike for that sector, with net GEX and both walls. No gamma regime is published for a sector ETF and the page says why. - [SPX Gamma Exposure](https://squawkflow.com/gex): SPX call wall, put wall, zero-gamma flip and Swing Line from daily-settled open interest, with an intraday session log, the vanna and charm exposure of the same book (the charm drift into the close), and dated change points in daily SPX net gamma exposure found under a published penalty - [SPX Gamma Heatmap](https://squawkflow.com/gex-heatmap): Net dealer gamma per 1% move broken out by strike AND expiration, the dimension a conventional GEX chart sums away - [SPY Gamma Heatmap](https://squawkflow.com/gex-heatmap/spy): Net dealer gamma per 1% move on the SPY ETF by strike and expiration, from daily-settled Cboe open interest. SPY options are American-style with physical delivery, unlike cash-settled SPX. - [QQQ Gamma Heatmap](https://squawkflow.com/gex-heatmap/qqq): Net dealer gamma per 1% move on the QQQ ETF by strike and expiration, from daily-settled Cboe open interest. - [IWM Gamma Heatmap](https://squawkflow.com/gex-heatmap/iwm): Net dealer gamma per 1% move on the IWM (Russell 2000) ETF by strike and expiration, from daily-settled Cboe open interest. - [DIA Gamma Heatmap](https://squawkflow.com/gex-heatmap/dia): Net dealer gamma per 1% move on the DIA (Dow Jones) ETF by strike and expiration, from daily-settled Cboe open interest. - [NVDA Gamma Heatmap](https://squawkflow.com/gex-heatmap/nvda): Net dealer gamma per 1% move in NVIDIA common stock by strike and expiration, from daily-settled Cboe open interest. - [TSLA Gamma Heatmap](https://squawkflow.com/gex-heatmap/tsla): Net dealer gamma per 1% move in Tesla common stock by strike and expiration, from daily-settled Cboe open interest. - [Overnight Open Interest Change](https://squawkflow.com/oi-change): Per-strike open interest change between two daily Cboe settlements when two archived sessions exist - [Biggest Options Open Interest Changes](https://squawkflow.com/oi-changes): The largest US options open interest increases and decreases between two consecutive Cboe settlements from SquawkFlow's own nightly archive, in contracts, not dollars: index ETFs vs single stocks, calls vs puts, percent changes above a 1,000 contract prior open interest floor, top strikes and symbols by net change. Open interest change, not trades; it does not say which side opened or closed. One dated page per session at /oi-changes/YYYY-MM-DD. - [GEX Calculator](https://squawkflow.com/gex-calculator): Gamma by strike for any US stock on the ticker list, from daily-settled Cboe open interest. Not real-time. - [SPX Session Record](https://squawkflow.com/session): The resolved record of the last SPX session: whether the call wall, put wall and gamma flip SquawkFlow published that morning were reached. One permanent dated page per closed session at /session/YYYY-MM-DD. - [Markets Now](https://squawkflow.com/now): One dated screen of US markets: index levels (S&P 500, Nasdaq 100 or Composite as labelled, Dow, Russell 2000, VIX) and percent change from the prior close, the biggest movers among about 200 ticker-page stocks, the SPDR sector ETFs with their biggest-moving holdings, the largest options open interest changes between Cboe settlements, the SPX gamma regime, walls and max pain, upcoming earnings, OPEX, FOMC and CPI dates, and India end-of-day PCR, max pain and OI change. Prices are the last cached quotes with their capture time. - [SPX Levels This Week](https://squawkflow.com/week): Each session's SPX call wall, put wall and zero-gamma flip this week as published that morning, where each session price sat against them, the week's options expirations and scheduled releases, and the week ahead. Not a forecast. - [S&P 500 Close Prediction Game](https://squawkflow.com/predict): A free daily game: players pick one of five buckets for the S&P 500 close, cut at the 20th to 80th percentiles of the SPX options-implied distribution. The crowd split is player opinion, sealed until the 9:30 AM ET lock; SquawkFlow makes no pick, and nothing here is a forecast. - [Futures Positioning](https://squawkflow.com/positioning): Weekly CFTC Traders in Financial Futures positioning for S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures: long, short, spreading and net contracts by trader classification. Every figure carries the Tuesday it was measured and the Friday the CFTC published it. Weekly government data, not a market feed, and the E-mini and Micro E-mini are separate contract markets whose counts are never added. - [S&P 500 Futures Positioning](https://squawkflow.com/positioning/sp500): The CFTC weekly Traders in Financial Futures table for this contract market: long, short, spreading and net contracts by trader classification, each row carrying the Tuesday it was measured and the Friday it was published. - [Nasdaq-100 Futures Positioning](https://squawkflow.com/positioning/nasdaq100): The CFTC weekly Traders in Financial Futures table for this contract market: long, short, spreading and net contracts by trader classification, each row carrying the Tuesday it was measured and the Friday it was published. - [Market Tide](https://squawkflow.com/market-tide): Cumulative call premium and put premium through the session, unsigned (no buyer or seller side is inferred), across a fixed list of US stocks and ETFs (listed on the page), estimated from a delayed options chain rather than a tape and published at least 15 minutes after capture - [Options Profit Calculator](https://squawkflow.com/options-profit-calculator): Payoff at expiration, breakevens, max profit and max loss for ten option positions, plus the expected move. Computed entirely in the browser from numbers the reader types, so it carries no market data of ours. - [SPX Max Pain](https://squawkflow.com/spx-max-pain): Max pain strike computed from the current chain - [Max Pain by Ticker](https://squawkflow.com/max-pain): Max pain by expiration for the US stocks and ETFs with a ticker page, from open interest as of the prior close, with the pain curve. One page per symbol at /max-pain/, each dated by the open interest session and the chain read. A positioning reference, not a price target. - [Options Implied Probability](https://squawkflow.com/odds): The risk-neutral probability the option chain prices on SPX, SPY or QQQ settling above a chosen level by a chosen expiration, taken as the digital spread across the two listed strikes bracketing that level and cross-checked against an independent Breeden-Litzenberger implementation. A risk-neutral probability is what the option market charges for a payout, not a count of how often the outcome has happened. Expirations settling beyond 90 days are refused rather than estimated. - [VIX Term Structure](https://squawkflow.com/vix-term-structure): VIX futures curve, contango and backwardation state - [VIX Spike Days Since 1990](https://squawkflow.com/learn/vix-spike-days): Every session the VIX closed 20% or more above the prior close, from Cboe daily history since 1990: the dated table, the count and share of all sessions, the count after counting spikes within 20 sessions once, and the VIX 5 and 20 sessions later beside the same change from every session. Past closes, not a forecast. - [Pre-market board](https://squawkflow.com/premarket): The board for the next US session: names to watch from two independent lists compared, names only and not a recommendation; the biggest overnight open interest changes at settlement; earnings dated that session with the timing each company stated; SPX, SPY and QQQ when within 0.5% of a wall or the Flip Line; the Rare Day card for the prior session; and scheduled releases with their stated times. Quotes are the last cached ones, each with its time. - [Rare Day](https://squawkflow.com/rare-day): One dated card per settled session: the S&P 500 and VIX stats (from Cboe daily histories: S&P 500 from 1975, VIX from 1990, newer indexes from their first year) whose reading was this rare or rarer on 1% or fewer of earlier sessions (a calibration share, stated separately from the raw count), each with its raw count, every earlier matching session by date, the S&P 500 change 1 week and 1 month after each match beside the same numbers for any session, matches within 20 trading days counted once, and a small sample tag under 10. On other sessions, a normal day card with the five closest stats. Counts of past sessions, not a forecast. - [Sector Rotation](https://squawkflow.com/sector-rotation): Relative performance across the 11 GICS sector ETFs - [Unusual Options Activity](https://squawkflow.com/options-flow): Dated, rule-generated snapshots of unusual options activity: put/call skew by expiry, volume against prior open interest, same-day share, near versus far dates and estimated premium, aggregated to ticker, expiry and call or put over the strikes each chain capture holds (up to 40 around the money per expiration, not every listed strike) on a fixed list of 21 symbols intraday (major stocks, ETFs and the SPX index), plus open interest changes for about 160 symbols after each settlement. Published at least 15 minutes after the delayed chain capture it describes and stamped with that time. Session totals, not individual trades; no buyer, seller or direction is inferred; premium is an estimate. Each snapshot gets the next settlement's open interest change as a follow-up. One dated page per session at /options-flow/YYYY-MM-DD. - [Dark Pool Activity Radar (Modeled)](https://squawkflow.com/dark-pool-flow): A modeled activity radar: every row is simulated, not a trade report, see limits above. The accelerant story it implies needs dealers short those calls. - [Gamma Skew](https://squawkflow.com/glossary/gamma-skew): Gamma skew is three different ideas sharing one name. What each means, why volatility skew changes computed gamma, and how it differs from Cboe SKEW. - [What Is a Golden Sweep in Options Flow?](https://squawkflow.com/glossary/golden-sweep): A golden sweep is the Unusual Whales label for a sweep clearing roughly seven figures of premium. It is a platform tier, not an order type or a signal. - [Hedge Wall](https://squawkflow.com/glossary/hedge-wall): A vendor's name for the price level where dealer hedging changes character, how it differs from the zero-gamma flip, and what can honestly be said about a proprietary level. - [What Is IV Crush in Options Trading?](https://squawkflow.com/glossary/iv-crush): IV crush is the sharp fall in implied volatility the moment a scheduled event resolves. One permanent page per manager per quarter, with its revision history. A 13F reports long 13(f) positions only, is filed up to 45 days after the quarter it describes, states no transaction and no transaction price, and this is a named cohort rather than a census. - [Market Calendar](https://squawkflow.com/calendar): Hub for the dated expiration and settlement pages below.
