CLAUDE PLUGIN

Use SquawkFlow in Claude

SquawkFlow is listed in Anthropic’s Claude directory as a plugin. It connects Claude to SquawkFlow’s read-only data server and adds three skills that tell Claude how to report that data: each figure with its source, the time it was captured and the settlement date of the open interest behind it, and a link to the squawkflow.com page it came from. It is free and needs no SquawkFlow account or key.

It works in Claude on the web, the desktop and mobile apps, Cowork and Claude Code.

What it adds

A connector to https://mcp.squawkflow.com/claude/mcp, read-only and with no authentication, and three skills:

  • reading-dealer-gamma: The SPX, SPY or QQQ call wall, put wall, zero gamma flip and vol trigger, the gamma grid by strike and expiration, and the sector gamma matrix: what each figure is, what it is not, and the settlement date behind it.
  • market-structure-briefing: A dated brief for SPX, SPY or QQQ built from dealer gamma, open interest change, max pain, the VIX futures curve, the exchange calendar and the range the option chain prices, with each line carrying its own date.
  • expiration-and-event-calendar: Which options and VIX expirations, sessions and exchange closures fall in a window, each read off a Cboe or NYSE document, and what an expiration prices.

Install

Menu names are quoted from Anthropic’s documentation as read on 2026-10-16; each step links to the page it came from.

Claude on the web and the desktop app

Directory plugins appear on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.

  1. Open “Customize > Plugins” (claude.ai/customize/plugins) in claude.ai or the Claude desktop app. (claude.com)
  2. Select “Discover”, find SquawkFlow and select it, then select “Add”. (claude.com)
  3. Adding the plugin does not add its connector. Open SquawkFlow from “Customize > Plugins”, select its “Connectors” tab, add the SquawkFlow connector there and connect it. SquawkFlow asks for no account or sign-in. (claude.com)
  4. In a chat, ask a question and Claude loads the matching skill, or type “/” in the message box and pick a SquawkFlow skill. (claude.com)
  • On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner decides whether members see the directory, and an Owner adds the connector for the organization. Ask an Owner if SquawkFlow or its connector is missing. (claude.com)
  • Mobile: a plugin added to your account brings its skills and connectors to chat on the web, desktop and mobile apps. Add it on the web or desktop first. (claude.com)

Cowork

  1. Open “Customize” in the sidebar, then select “Plugins”. (claude.com)
  2. Select “Discover”, select SquawkFlow and click “Install”. (claude.com)
  3. Open the plugin’s “Connectors” tab and add or connect the SquawkFlow connector. (claude.com)
  • A plugin you already added in chat is saved to your account and loads in Cowork the next time you start a task. (claude.com)

Claude Code

SquawkFlow reaches Claude Code through your claude.ai account, not through a /plugin marketplace command.

  1. Add SquawkFlow on claude.ai as above. (code.claude.com)
  2. Start Claude Code signed in with the same claude.ai account (Claude Code v2.1.273 or later; an API key or token sign-in does not sync plugins). It downloads the plugin as squawkflow@synced in the background. (code.claude.com)
  3. Run /reload-plugins in that session, or start Claude Code again. (code.claude.com)
  4. Use a skill by typing /squawkflow:reading-dealer-gamma (or another skill name), or just ask. (claude.com)
  • Connector only, any plan: claude mcp add --transport http squawkflow https://mcp.squawkflow.com/claude/mcp (code.claude.com)

On a Free plan: the connector alone

Free plans do not see directory plugins, but can add one custom connector. That gives Claude the SquawkFlow tools without the three skills.

  1. Open “Customize > Connectors” (claude.ai/customize/connectors). (support.claude.com)
  2. Click “+ Add”, then “Add custom connector”. Name it SquawkFlow and paste https://mcp.squawkflow.com/claude/mcp, then click “Continue”. (support.claude.com)
  3. Under “Authentication” choose “No sign in”, then click “Add”. (support.claude.com)
  4. In a chat, open the “+” button, choose “Connectors” and turn SquawkFlow on. (support.claude.com)

Example prompts

What comes back is the shape the skills ask Claude to use. The figures themselves change every session, so none are printed here.

“Where are the SPX call wall, put wall and zero gamma flip, and when were they captured?”

A line giving the capture time (UTC) and the open interest settlement date first, then each level in index points, a sentence on what the levels mean and what they assume about dealer positioning, the squawkflow.com link and "Not investment advice."

“Give me a dated market structure brief for QQQ.”

One to three lines per section: the exchange calendar, dealer gamma, the open interest change between two named settlements, the VIX futures curve and the range the chain prices. Each line has its own date. Max pain is skipped with a note, because it is published for SPX only.

“Which options expirations and exchange holidays fall between Nov 23 and Dec 4?”

The window as two dates and a table of date, weekday, what happens (closure, monthly, quarterly, VIX or daily expiration) and the exchange document each date was checked against.

“How did SPX open interest change between the last two Cboe settlements?”

Both settlement dates, the net change in call and put open interest in contracts, and the largest rows by strike, expiration and call or put. It says open interest change is not a record of trades and does not show who opened or closed.

“Is the VIX futures curve in contango or backwardation?”

The shape of the Cboe VIX futures settlement curve, the front month and the gap to the second month, with the settlement date they come from.

“What does the SPX option chain price on settling above 7,000 at the December monthly expiration?”

The risk-neutral probability the chain prices for that level and expiration, the time the chain was captured, and a plain label that this is the price of a payout, not a forecast.

What it will not do

  • Give investment advice. It does not recommend a position, a trade or a security, and does not review your trades.
  • Forecast. No price targets and no statement of where a price will close. A level describes where open interest sat on the date shown.
  • Place orders. SquawkFlow has no order execution and holds no broker credentials. Every tool is read-only.
  • Fill a gap from memory. When a fresh reading fails it says so, or gives the last good copy labelled with its own capture time.
  • Cover every ticker. Dealer gamma and implied odds are for SPX, SPY and QQQ; max pain is SPX only. Asked about another symbol, it says so instead of substituting the index.

All data is delayed and derived. Open interest is the daily Cboe settlement figure, so every gamma, max pain and open interest figure names the settlement date it was built from.

Dealer positioning is an assumption, not an observable: open interest shows that a contract exists, never which side a dealer holds.

Privacy and support

The plugin runs no code on your machine. When Claude uses a tool, the tool name and its arguments (for example a symbol and a date) go to https://mcp.squawkflow.com/claude/mcp, which reads SquawkFlow’s own API and published pages.

The server logs the client software name and version once per session and, per tool call, the tool name, the route, that client name and version, the outcome, how long the call took and a coarse symbol label. It logs no IP address, no raw arguments and no response content. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, which sees connection metadata including IP addresses.

The full privacy policy covers the site and the server. For help, see support or email admin@squawkflow.com. Use is covered by the terms of service and the risk disclosure. Developers can also call the same data over the public API.
