How it is counted
The stat compares the S&P 500 at 1:30 PM ET with the 4:00 PM close: the last two and a half hours of the regular session. It is recounted each weekday evening, after the close, over every session in our archive.
This counts every session. It does not pick days by what the market did, so no days are left out as repeats.
