How to read this board
Each bar is scaled to the larger move on its board, so a bar compares symbols on the same board only. A big percent move in a thinly traded name and in a large company are different events; the groups keep them apart, and volume sits under each row when the provider sent one.
Prices are the last quotes held in SquawkFlow's market data cache, shown with the time they were captured; they may be delayed. Ranking uses the regular session's percent change from the prior close; when the market is closed the board is the last regular session's. Not investment advice.
COMMON QUESTIONS
- How is the percent change on this page measured?
- It is the regular session's percent change from the prior close, dated by the last regular-session trade. Pre-market and after-hours trades never rank a name: in those hours the extended-hours change is shown beside a name under its own label. When the market is closed, over a weekend or a holiday or overnight, the board is the last regular session's.
- Which stocks are ranked?
- The liquid US stocks and ETFs that have a SquawkFlow ticker page and a quote held right now, which is the count shown at the top of the board. A symbol appears only after the quote cache has read it, so the count can be lower than the number of ticker pages, notably just after a restart. ETFs and indexes are ranked apart from stocks so a fund move is never read as a company move. The large-cap group is a fixed, hand-kept list of large US companies, not a live market-value ranking; BRK.B is on it but have no ticker page, so cannot rank.
- Why is there no volume compared with average volume?
- The quote cache holds share volume but not an average volume, so a ratio would need a number this page does not have. Volume is shown as reported, when the provider sends one, and can include extended-hours trading.
